Route 325, km 12—The Races, along the Artisan Route
It all began many years ago, thanks to the vision and skill of Jesús Manuel Cancino, who was the first to discover and fall in love with the craft of transforming wood and leather into something both useful and beautiful. With patience and dedication, he laid the foundation for what is now our family tradition. That knowledge was not lost: he passed it on to his son, Manuel Santos Cancino, who put his own stamp on it, perfecting the techniques while always respecting the essence of craftsmanship. Next came Manuel Sinecio Cancino, our third generation, who, with hard work and love, kept the tradition alive, adapting it to the times without ever losing the quality and style that set us apart. Today, I, Jesús Manuel Cancino, carry on, honoring the name of the man who started it all. And the most beautiful thing of all: the fifth generation is already with us—my son, Axel Manuel Cancino—carrying on this legacy with his own vision and creativity. Each one has left—and continues to leave—his mark, but we all share the same respect for fine materials. 🛠️ Our Work We craft rustic furniture where wood and leather take center stage: chairs, tables, stools, footboards, headboards, pot-holding chairs, armchairs, and much more. We’re always seeking the perfect balance between the warmth of wood and the durability and beauty of leather. We use completely untreated leather, free of any chemicals, respecting the material’s natural qualities. We employ various techniques: - ✅ Full-grain leather — the most traditional and premium option - ✅ Single-weave — a single layer of leather - ✅ Double weave — two layers, more durable - ✅ Mat weave — what used to be made from rush or plastic, we make entirely from leather It’s a labor-intensive process, done by hand with patience and the pride that comes from knowing that behind every piece lie five generations of love for what we do. Five generations. The same roots. New hands. So we look forward to welcoming you so you can get to know our history and our beautiful work more deeply
